Cyclones Split Week 7

On Wednesday the Cyclones traveled to Ridgewater, 22-25, 21-25, 17-25.  Kalli Mathiasen, first year setter/hitter from St Cloud Apollo, had a great match leading in kills, digs and aces.  Mathiasen had 11 kills, followed by Kalie Jergens, first year outside hitter from Becker, with 10 kills.  Ally Bushendorf, first year setter from Eau Claire, led the offense with 15 assists, followed by Mathiasen with 9 assists.  Payton Thompson, second year defensive specialist from Big Lake, earned 11 dig.  McKayla Quade, first year middle from Paynesville, produced 4 blocks.

On Friday the Cyclones hosted MN West and defeated the Jays 25-16, 25-18, 25-17.  Jergens cleared 12 kills, followed by Quade and Karlee Kern, first year outside from BBE, with 5 kills each.  Mathiasen led the offense with 23 set assists and 7 service aces.  Chelsea Schroeder, first year defensive specialist from Rocori, led in digs with 10, followed by Chloe Callahan, second year outside hitter from Maple Lake, with 9 digs. 

The Cyclones next home match is also their Breast Cancer Awareness match on Friday, October 14th at 6:30pm.  They will be honoring an alum cancer survivor and raising funds for the Central MN Making Strides for Breast Cancer Walk the following morning at SCSU.  The Cyclones follow the walk with a match at noon on Saturday, October 15th at noon versus Riverland.
