Cyclones Finish Regular Season 18-10 Overall, 8-6 in the MCAC South
In the last week of the regular season the Cyclones earn 2 conference wins and finish the regular season 18-10 overall, 8-6 in the MCAC South.
The first win was earned Wednesday when the Cyclones hosted the Golden Rams of Anoka Ramsey 3-1; 28-26, 2-21, 27-29, 25-10. Kalie Jergens, first year outside hitter from Becker, led in kills with 16, followed by, Karlee Kern, first year outside hitter from BBE, with 12 kills. First year setters, Kalli Mathiasen from Apollo and Ally Bushendor from Eau Claire, earned a combined 48 set assists and 6 service aces. Leading in digs was Chelsea Schroeder, first year defensive specialist from Rocori, with 19 digs, followed by Payton Thompson, second year defensive specialist from Big Lake, earning 14 digs. Whitney Haney, first year middle from BOLD, earned 3 blocks.
On Friday the Cyclones traveled to Worthington to face MN-West. They Cyclones defeated the Blue Jays 3-1; 25-22, 26-24, 18-25, 25-22. Chloe Callahan, second year outside from Maple Lake, led in kills with 10, followed by McKayla Quade, first year middle from Paynesville, with 8 kills. Setters, Mathiasen and Bushendorf, earned a combined 39 set assists. Schroeder led with 15 digs, followed by Callahan with 13.
The Cyclones earned the 4th seed in the MCAC South and will travel to the Region Tournament on Friday hosted by the 1 seed.
