Sophomore Tori Nelson was named National Defensive Player of the Week for her efforts last weekend at the College of Dupage Invitational. Nelson, a Sophomore from New London-Spicer, tallied 82 digs for the Cyclones who went 4-0 on the weekend. The highlight of the weekend took place in the final match of the tournament against perennial power Harper College. Tori was credited with 41 digs in the four set win by the Cyclones.
Nelson and the Cyclones return to action on Wednesday, September 4th when they host Anoka Ramsey at 6:30pm. The Cyclones travel Friday to MN West to take on the Blue Jays. Both teams entered the national polls this week. Mn West earning the #8 spot while the Cyclones check in at #9.
