Cyclones Finish Regular Season with 2 More Wins

The SCTCC Cyclones finished the regular season this week with 2 conference wins. Wednesday the Cyclones traveled to Ridgewater and earned a 3-2 win (21-25, 25-15, 25-16, 11-25, 16-14). Friday the Cyclones hosted Anoka Ramsey and finished the regular season with a 3-0 victory over Anoka-Ramsey (25-15, 25-14, 25-18).

Stat leader against Ridgewater:
Kills- Karissa Lintgen (first year outside hitter from St Cloud Tech HS) with 16
Set Assists- Maddie Beumer (first year setter from Annandale) and Makayla Balder (first year setter from Onamia) combined for 38
Digs- Allison Fritz (first year libero from Norwood Young America) 41
Service Aces- Balder and Beumer each earned 3
Blocks- Sara Geiser (first year rightside hitter from Minnewaska) had 2

Stat leaders against Anoka-Ramsey:
Kills- McKenna Gross (first year outside hitter from Foley) with 13
Set Assists- Beumer and Balder compiled 22
Digs- Fritz earned 22
Service Aces- Beumer and Lintgen each had 2

The Cyclones finish the regular season with an overall record of 16-5, and a MCAC South record of 12-4. Cyclones earn the 3 seed and will travel to the 1 seed for the Region Tournament on October 29-30 for a chance to earn a trip to the National Tournament.

Head Coach, Heidi Smith, in her 11 year at SCTCC states, "This is a very fun and remarkable team! We are small but make up for in in tenacity and smarts. This group has had numerous double digit come backs and never give up. I am excited to see what they will do next weekend!"
